Introduction to Children’s Autism Foundation

Hello, and welcome to Children’s Autism Foundation’s blog. We’d like to use this space to make informative posts about Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as spotlight some spectacular resources in our local area for children, adults, and families in the Autism community!

First, though, we’d like to introduce ourselves!

Children’s Autism Foundation (CAF) was founded by Bethany Oliver Craig in 2021, with the goal of giving a voice to individuals on the spectrum, as well as providing access to resources for families with loved ones on the Autism spectrum. CAF is primarily a service-based Foundation, which means we strive to take an active part in serving our local community in Woodstock, Georgia whenever and wherever possible. This means partnering with other local organizations to create programs for children and adults with Autism, host special events, and much more! CAF is also working toward constructing a digital database of all local programs and opportunities for the Autism community on our website, which is an ongoing work in progress! There are a lot of cool projects in the works that CAF hopes to accomplish in the near future!

Another project that CAF is proud to be working on is an ongoing partnership with the Autism community in Kenya. First, Children’s Autism Foundation was able to provide equipment to the Hope and Faith Home for Special Children in Kenya to build their own sensory space for their children with Autism!

Second, CAF has partnered with Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) to provide access to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training! CAF is currently setting up an ABA training program through the International Behavior Analysis Organization (IBAO). This will enable staff at KISE to provide ABA services to individuals on the Autism spectrum! CAF hopes this partnership will provide improved quality of life and quality of services to families in the Autism community in Kenya!

Thank you for taking the time to read and learn a little bit about Children’s Autism Foundation!
